I learned English when I was a kid. I use it all the time for my professional activities.

1. Watch English News and Shows Every Day.

To improve your listening skills, you need to watch programs in English every day. It helps you get used to conversational sentences.

And it might help you develop your skills because it is a two-way street. It needs interaction between the speaker and the listener. You could learn new terms from those programs to progress your grasp of the language better. You could discover the correct pronunciation of words as well.

Exposing yourself to the language used in the movie helps you actually think in English, too. If you didn't try this strategy of improving your English yet, do it now. And you will see how effective it will be on your end.

2. Keep a Journal Notebook for New Vocabulary Words.

Studies show that keeping a vocabulary notebook is an effective tool.

Exactly! It promotes vocabulary acquisition and intellectual autonomy. It helps your written communication becomes more effective. And this is the basic need for English, right? It is an essential product of learning. Yet, insufficient vocabulary leads to a lack of comprehension of written texts. The same goes for oral input for reading and listening activities.

When you speak, listeners will identify how rich your vocabulary bank is. The lesser your vocabulary words are, the lesser you can construct sentences.

That is why it is crucial to jot down new terms and find their usage to help you get new ideas. It is helpful when you can use it in your speech next time. Also, keep a notebook of unfamiliar words you learn and use them in sentences. Then, try to use them in writing and speaking engagements. The more you get a list of stories each week, the more you expose yourself to its usage. Also, the more you can use it every day.

3. Read Books, Blogs, Articles, and Novels in English.

Knowledge is power. Indeed.

Everyone acclaimed it. Yes! It is accurate, and it will always be. But, there is a specific guideline for us to follow. So, that is to read, read, and read every day. Make it a habit. Include it in your daily routine. And you will see the difference, the power it gives you.

There is knowledge written in reading texts, especially in academic research and stories. You need to get the most of it.

That is why you need to ensure that you read a book or novel before going to bed. You need to finish it in an hour or two. Because it helps not only your brain process new ideas. But also helps your knowledge grow. And you can do it, too. Get into the habit of reading books and other references in English.

Reading texts change the way you understand things entirely. It gives you different perspectives. It gives you new ideas as well. Get into the habit of reading books and other references in English.

Arm yourself with diligence and a love of reading.

After all, you will learn more from the texts and letters written in a book, novel, or article.

4. Speak with Native English Speakers.

Confidence is for you to have. And the end goal of language learning is to let you use it.

This proves when you are speaking with native English speakers. Did you try it already? If not, try it now.

Talk with your foreign friends in person or online. It helps you assess your language skills.

For me, I always ensure that I am confused with the grammar rules. I consult them online. And start speaking with them. It is because, for me, it is the best and the most uncomplicated strategy I could use. It helps me become better. I talked with them about anything or random ideas. After that, they would give me their feedback on how to improve my speech next time. I always speak English, even when buying anything in a grocery store.

Don't be afraid to speak English. Speak to express your ideas, not to impress people.

Also, don't feel dismayed when people might not understand you. In fact, it is a learning curve you need to face with bravery and openness for your self-improvement. Amazingly, I found it worth-learning and compelling.

5. Practice, Practice, and Practice

Practice makes your activity perfect.

It might sound repetitive for some. But valid to all extent of learning. It emphasizes its importance to you as you learn the language. And it gives you an edge over the others. Because you arm yourself with passion and excellence every time you practice. As expected, you should know the importance of language practice for language learners.

When the moment is right, you can't think of anything else but to improve yourself.

Improve your craft. Improve your passion!

And it should start now, not later.
